Your 4 days wild safari to Kidepo Valley National Park is the ideal holiday excursion for the avid adventurer. The Park is Uganda’s furthest park located in the remote North – eastern part of the country, at the edge of country’s border with Kenya and South Sudan.

A wild safari to Kidepo is a break from modern civilisation; the memory of the hustle, bustle and din, characteristic of city life, gives away to tranquillity as you approach the park. The sight of the eminent Morungole mountain, the rugged open savannahs, the Narus and Kidepo valleys with their rivers, the seasonal oases, and the Kanangarok hot springs, an encounter with over 86 mammals and 500 bird species is breath-taking.

Itinerary

Day 1Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park

Your wild safari to Uganda’s remote Kidepo Valley National Park will start with an experienced driver – guide picking you from a suitable location in Kampala at 7:30am. After a briefing about your 4 days wild safari, you will head out towards the North-eastern Uganda taking the Soroti – Kotido – amuria route a 7 – 8 hours drive from Kampala – Uganda’s capital.

You will enjoy the sight of the open savannahs, the seasonal oases and the distant mountain ranges. A wild safari to Kidepo is your chance to encounter one of Africa’s finest wildernesses. You will have lunch en route and arrive at the park in the evening.

Day 2All Day Wildlife Game Drive in the Kidepo Valley Wilderness

You have an early breakfast before heading out for a game drive in the park’s famous Narus valley. The valley attracts a high concentration of wildlife because of its water sources. A guided game drive through this prized area is your chance to see the; bat-eared Fox, aardwolf, striped hyena, caracal, klipspringer, cheetah, hunting dog, greater and lesser duku, among other carnivores species unique to Kidepo.

The other great mammals to see on this wild safari include; the African elephant, Rothschild’s giraffe, cape buffalo, bushbucks, zebras, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest and bush babies. You will also have a chance to sight the Kidepo and Narus rivers.

Day 3Visit Kanangarok hot springs and the native Karamojong Community

The third day of your wild safari will begin with an early breakfast before heading out to Kanangarok, a tepid hot spring located at the extreme north of the park. This spring is Kidepo’s most permanent source of water. You will get see amazing wild and bird-life in this Park Region.

After Having lunch, you will embark on a cultural trail to the native Karamojong community. A wild safari to Kidepo is incomplete without encountering the nomadic Karamojongs.

Day 4Return to Kampala

You will then embark on your journey back to Kampala arriving in the late evening. This will mark the end of your 4 days Kidepo Valley National Park wild safari.
